Having directed hundreds of TV commercials, Alain Desrochers started his director of fiction career in 1998, with many episodes of Tony and Ridley Scott’s The Hunger series.
His first feature-length movie, La bouteille, in 2000, was nominated for Best Direction at the Genie Awards. Returning to TV series, he then was director on Music Hall 1 and 2, and the first season of Les Bougon: c’est aussi ça la vie, a few episodes of Charlie Jade, a science-fiction series shot in South-Africa, as well as Nos étés II. In summer 2007, his feature Nitro, starring Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge and Lucie Laurier was a box-office smash.
He went on to direct Musée Éden, an epic TV series aired on Radio-Canada, and the comedy Cabotins, produced by Novem and starring Rémy Girard and Yves Jacques. He then directed the film biography of Gerry Boulet: Gerry, in 2011. The following year, he directed four episodes of a new series for France 2, Les Limiers.
Alain is currently collaborating as director on the development of two features at Novem: John, Yoko, la reine et moi and Under the tree.
