Since his participation to La course autour du monde, Stephane Lapointe works as comedy writer, for Claudine Mercier, Pierre Verville and the TV series, Histoires de filles, and writer-director for TV series such as Bons Baisers d’Amérique, Au-delà du Réal, 100 limites, etc. He is co-director of the comedy magazine Infoman, that has won numerous Gémeaux Awards, including Best direction, comedy program.
Stéphane is writer, artistic coordinator and director for the series Festival juste pour rire. In fiction, he was director on the dramatic series Hommes en quarantaine 1-2, before directing the short film, Foie de canard et Coeur de femme. His first feature-length film won a Jutra Award for Best direction of a first film. He also received the Remstar Award for best Kino of the year at the Rendez-vous du cinema québécois, for Jardin Dead End, another short-length movie.
For television, he directed all five seasons of Tout sur moi, that was a great audience success, as well as winning Gémeaux Awards in 2011 and 2012, for Best direction, comedy, and being nominated for Best direction, comedy at the Gémeaux’s 27th edition. In 2012, he also directed a number of episodes of the TV series Mauvais Karma.
Stéphane will be shooting his second feature, Ghost(s) later en 2013. He is currently working on the screenplay and direction for a future film Portrait-Robot, for Novem.
