Benoît Guichard has been a writer for more than fifteen years, and has worked on many film productions, both in the field of documentary and fiction, with renowned directors such as Christian Duguay, François Girard, Benoît Pilon, Michel Langlois, Yves Simoneau and Podz.
He acted as script consultant on André Turpin’s Un crabe dans la tête and Stéphane Lafleur’s Continental, un film sans fusil. He has also developed numerous artistic and advertising concepts. As screenwriter, his partnership with director Alain Desrochers led to successful films like La Bouteille and Nitro.
His most recent screenplay Cadavres is an adaptation of François Barcelo’s novel, and was shot by Érik Canuel. He is pursuing this collaboration, as he is currently working on the screenplay for Erik’s upcoming film Asile, to be produced by Cinémaginaire. In 2012, he wrote John, Yoko, la reine et moi for Novem, as well as the bible and pilot of a new TV series, Les infiltrés. Benoît Guichard has also been teaching screenwriting at l’INIS, for the past eleven years.
